Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence Proud of Primary Election Results

Providence, Rhode Island September 19, 2018 – The Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence (RICAGV) is proud of the turnout for last week’s primary elections. Many of our endorsed candidates,  leaders who are ready to fight for gun safety by addressing the underlying causes of gun violence, won their primary elections on September 12th. We look forward to supporting these and other RICAGV endorsed candidates in the general election on Tuesday, November 6.

“Last week we saw many upsets in our favor as the polls closed,” said RICAGV President, Linda Finn. “I have to believe that people are fed up, voters are not going to vote for corrupt candidates just because of leadership endorsements. Rhode Island voters want real change, and they want to see gun safety, fair wages, and rights for women.”

We are optimistic that these victories point toward a greater trend in candidates who are open and willing to not just be champions for better gun laws,  working families, women, and underserved communities.
