The Campaign for Gun Violence Prevention Rhode Island* is hosting a lobby day on Tuesday, April 4, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. at the Rhode Island State House. We will lobby for two life-saving gun violence prevention laws: Regulating Assault Weapons and Safe Firearm Storage.
All are welcome, and no prior lobbying experience is needed. If you’ve never lobbied before, we will provide a brief training and partner you with an experienced volunteer. Lobbying legislators face-to-face is one of the most powerful ways to make a difference in pushing gun safety legislation forward. It is a great way to have your voice heard
Please wear ORANGE. We will also have t-shirts available if you don’t have anything orange in your wardrobe. Feel free to bring friends and family members. Volunteers will greet you in the state house rotunda.
Thank you for your advocacy and support! We look forward to seeing you on April 4.
*The Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence is the organizer of this campaign, which has many local and national partners, including Moms Demand Action, the Nonviolence Institute, the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence, United Way of Rhode Island, The Womxn Project, AFL-CIO, the Rhode Island Black Business Association, RI Kids Count and more.
