An 18-year-old former student at Fair Haven Union High School was charged with 4 felonies after police were alerted by his mother that he had bought a gun. A friend also contact the police because he was talking admiringly about the Parkland shooting, and hinted at similar plans of his own. He had also made threats against the school two years earlier.
The Vermont Supreme Court cast doubt on the charges and the most serious charges were dropped. Leaving only misdemeanors, he was released on bail last week.
