RICAGV Announces Results of 2022 Endorsements

Leading gun safety organization sees 94% of endorsed candidates elected to the 2022 General Assembly.

The Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence (RICAGV) is proud to share the outcome of its 2022 endorsed candidates who ran for seats in RI’s General Assembly. Board Chair Sydney Montstream-Quas said, “Every RICAGV endorsed candidate, now elected officials, are committed to supporting and championing gun violence prevention and gun safety legislation.”

“We saw the previous General Assembly pass three critical life-saving gun safety bills into law, including limiting magazine capacity to ten rounds of ammunition, raising the age from 18 to 21 to purchase a long gun, and prohibiting the open carry of long guns. Now we turn our attention to a new session, with an increasing number of legislators and elected leaders who will support gun violence prevention efforts. We know that a majority of Rhode Islanders support regulating military-style assault weapons.* We look forward to passing a regulation on assault weapons which will help make Rhode Islanders even safer from gun violence. We offer our sincerest congratulations to all elected officials and look forward to a successful legislative session.”

Following is a list of all RICAGV endorsed candidates who went on to be elected to Rhode Island’s House of Representatives and Senate.
