Federal and Supreme Court decisions have upheld restrictions on the right to bear arms.

After being voted down, Tiverton Town Council President Robert Coulter called for a special meeting on Monday, June 3rd to try again for passage.

Thanks to bill sponsors, Senator Coyne, Chairs Lynch-Prata, Miller and Conley, and Senator Seveney

The council will hold a special meeting on Monday, June 3 at 3pm to reconsider this resolution with a minor change in the language.

This resolution is intentionally designed to create division.

We’ve put together a few facts to help our supporters where their town councils are proposing to cherry-pick which gun laws they will enforce.

Hearings were held on March 19, 2019 and there appears to be no intention to move these bills to the floor for debate and an up-or-down vote.
